Education in one or more selected topics of automotive engineering.

Educational outcome:

Ability to define and solve complex engineering problems in one or more selected fields of automotive technology.

Course content:

Regulations related to road vehicles. International and national standards in field of road vehicles. Supercharging of IC engines: mechanical superchargers and turbochargers. IC engine intake systems with variable geometry. Variable valve trains. Balancing of IC engines. IC engines with variable displacement and variable compression ratio. IC engines noise emission. Motorcycle IC engines. On-board diagnostics of IC engines. Coupled IC engine and electric drive in hybrid vehicle. Specific features of electric and hybrid vehicle design. Introduction in modelling and simulation of vehicle components using finite elements method (FEM). Introduction in modelling and simulation of processes in motor vehicle using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
