Enabling students to produce computer animation, introduction to the basic concepts and methods for animation generation

Rigid Body animation design, analysis and implementation process for creating animations. Motion animation of complex kinematic systems like the animals and human, including rendering the basic compositing.

Modeling: space, objects and structures. Transformations, global and local. Modeling technics, curves, geometrical primitives, surfaces. Fractals, particles, plant modeling, modeling of physical properties. Modeling of the skin, hair and clothing. Drawing the basic shape of 3D animation and animation of the basic figure through 12 principles of animation (Squash and stretch, Anticipation, Staging, Straight-ahead action and pose-to-pose, Follow-through and overlapping action, Slow-in and slow-out, Arcs, Secondary action, Timing, Exaggeration, Solid Drawing, Character Appeal). Modeling hierarchal kinematics (forward and inverse kinematiks). Movable segments, types of joint connections. Simulation of physical effects. Creative development of animation: scenario preparation, scene and character analysis. Sketching as an animation base. Character design, making production strategy, creating teams for technical realization of animation, scene assembly (image and sound). Rendering: light, cameras and materials. Mental Ray and V Ray rendering. Diferent procedures for animation compositing.

Teaching methods include: Lectures and Practice in the computer laboratory, projects development and Consultations. In lectures and practice course content is presented, and forcing the active participation of students. The practical part of the course students master through the preparation of the projects.
