Acquiring basic and theoretical knowledge in the field of Higher (mathematical and physical) geodesy. Ability to reflect where and when to apply the 2D and 3D ellipsoid position model, to enable students to understand date transformations and calculate position coordinates in different georeference systems.
Acquired knowledge is used in professional courses, as well as in the recognition and in solving the engineering problems.
Object and task Teoretical geodesy. Vector space, position vectors, and transformation of position vectors. Cartesian and curve coordinate systems. 2D ellipsoid position model. The geometry of the ellipsoid. Earth's ellipsoid and ball. Line of intersection. Radiation curves. Geodetic line. The first and second major geodetic task on the ellipsoid. 3D ellipsoid position model. Transformations. Fundamentals of potential theory. Equations of Laplace and Puasson. Potential of the Earth's gravity and normal potential. The term and definition of geoid. Reduction of geodetic measurements. Systems height. Georeference coordinate systems.
Forms of teaching: lectures; computer exercises; active participation; making tasks.
