Educational goal of this course is to prepare students for professional engagement in graphic production and development of graphic products. It aims to educate students in engineering communication through elementary sketch drawing, technical drawing, CAD modeling, preparation of technical documentation. Especially important objective is introduction of students to modern engineering tools in graphic production.
After the course, students are able to successfully communicate within graphic production using standard engineering methods for production of sketches, technical drawings and technical documentation. Theoretical knowledge and practical skills obtained in this course can be used in professional engagement as well as the base for further education in this field.
Course is consisted of drawing techniques and Engineering communication techniques used in graphic production. Elementary drawing geometry and technical drawing, Techniques for drawing linear perspective with historical overview of presentation of three-dimensional objects on two-dimensional medium. One, two and three point perspective, construction of complex images in perspective are explained theoretically and through practice. Parallel projection is presented theoretically and through practical exercises dealing with orthogonal, isometric drawing, technical documentation, standards, measurements and measuring devices, control, computer aided design, computer aided manufacturing, product life management, idea visualization. Modern software tools for graphic production management.
Interactive teaching consists of the lectures, practical exercises and computer work. Theory is presented in lectures, supported by the good practice examples for better understanding of the course content. Lecture presentations contain text, images, animation and video material. Practical exercises and computer work are organized to provide practical skills needed for successful graphic production process. Apart from lectures and practice, tutorials are regularly held.
