Acquiring knowledge about modern approaches in optimization and logistics. Developing scientific capabilities, academic and professional in the field of production and occupational safety engineering. Training students to apply information technologies in the activities of optimization and logistics.

Scientific and professional thorough knowledge of optimization and logistics problems. Students possess the ability to creatively solve theoretical and practical problems in optimization and logistics within production and occupational safety engineering on the basis of applied scientific methods, practical knowledge and information and communication technologies.

Introduction to the course. Terms, objectives and tasks of optimization and logistics in production and occupational safety work. Basics of optimization. Analytical and experimental methods of optimization. Simulation methods. Elements of a product quality. Product design in terms of excellence – DfX with regard to human and environmental safety. Manufacturability analysis from the aspect of occupational safety. Product compliance with EU directives and aspects of occupational and environmental safety. Occupational safety and product standardization. Occupational safety with regard to CE/3A marking. Optimization of products and manufacturing processes from the aspect of risk-risk analysis. Elements of optimization from the aspect of occupational safety and protection in production systems. Basic logistics activities within an enterprise. Logistics systems. Material and information flows in production systems. Modeling and simulation methods in logistics. Information systems in logistics. Collaboration in logistics. Organization of integrated logistics support.

Lectures, study research work and consultations. Lectures are intended to present theoretical part of the course and typical examples from science and practice with the application of modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, students gain modern scientific and professional knowledge, master scientific methods and procedures for independent study research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held on a regular basis. Study research work refers to all forms of classes that provide contribution to students training in research, writing scientific papers and work on doctoral thesis.
