Educational goal:

Acquisition of knowledge, competencies and academic skills in the areas of modeling cutting tools and and fixtures. Development of creative abilities and mastering specific practical skills in the domain of modeling cutting tools and and fixtures.

Educational outcome:

Ability to solve specific problems in the domain of cutting tools and fixtures modeling. Mastering the methods, procedures and processes for modeling cutting tools and fixtures using scientific methods. Development of skills and competences for selecting parameters and procedures for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Ability to critically and self-critical thinking and approach in defining strategies for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Ability to use information and communication technologies in the field of automated modeling of cutting tools and fixtures.

Course content:

Fundamentals and importance of software support for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Modeling of universal and dedicated cutting tools and fixtures. Databases of universal and dedicated cutting tools and fixtures. Methods and algorithms for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Mathematical formulation and numerical simulations for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Application of artificial intelligence in the development of systems for modeling cutting tools and fixtures. Automation of modeling of cutting tools and fixtures by usage of modern computer and software systems.

Teaching methods:

Teaching is performed with modern didactic means and methods, interactive in the form of lectures, laboratory and computer exercises. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are also held regularly. The lectures show the theoretical part of the material accompanied by characteristic examples for easier understanding of the subject matter. Laboratory exercises are practically applied to the acquired knowledge on the available laboratory equipment. Computer exercise is carried out using information and communication technologies with the aim of mastering the knowledge and skills of the observed area.
