Subject: Modeling of delivery systems in traffic (17.S01331)

Native organizations units: No data
General information:

Category Scientific-professional
Scientific or art field Information-Communication Systems
Interdisciplinary No
ECTS 6
Educational goal:

Interpreting knowledge from the field of modeling delivery systems in traffic. Students derive knowledge about the elements that make up modern delivery systems and tools, the methods used in the process of modeling and simulation of delivery systems, as well as the parameters used to evaluate the efficiency of such systems. Students are taught knowledge about modern procedures and delivery systems in traffic engineering. Application of simulation tools in modeling modern delivery systems.

Educational outcome:

Students are taught to follow the usual modeling and simulation procedures, students apply the developed knowledge from this subject to solving specific problems in the field of delivery and routing of delivery vehicles on the network. In addition, students are trained to apply modern solutions that are based on modern technical and technological achievements in the field of traffic engineering and information systems when solving specific problems. Students master the procedures of modeling, defining input parameters for delivery systems and making appropriate decisions based on output parameters of simulation models.

Course content:

Mobile delivery elements (delivery vehicles). Infrastructure of delivery systems (delivery networks-fixed elements of delivery networks and the infrastructure that connects them). Delivery flows of goods, shipments, people and information. Evaluation of the efficiency of delivery systems (key performance indicators). Modeling and simulation of delivered systems.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, auditory and computational exercises. Within the scope of the course, a project is planned in which the student solves the practical problems of modeling the supply network according to the assigned project task.
