Aim is to teach students to able to implement and verify communication networks in automotive, and also to have solid basic knowledge about several key communication protocols used in automotive industry.
After successfully attending the course, students will be capable to understand communication mechanisms of computer components in vehicles and to write simple programs that run in such environment.
Introduction. Part 1: Special characteristics of computer networks in automotive (Reliability, determinism, efficiency, speed, security. Requirements dependency on components characteristics and their critical level.) Part 2: Main protocols and buses in automotive (Basic information and hands-on work with the following protocols and buses: CAN/CAN-FD, LIN, FlexRay, MOST, BroadR Reach, Deterministic Ethernet. Detailed comparison of the protocols and their typical usage.) Part 3: Advanced topics (Car to car communication and car to infrastructure.)
