The goal of this course is to master the basic knowledge in the field of digital safety which enables students to understand the problems of reaching digital safety of modern technological systems from the perspective of managing the company, and understand the ways of setting up modern solutions which enable the digital security of the company.
The student will master the knowledge necessary to conduct managerial analysis and understand the needs of comparing modern technological solutions for digital safety, based on current technological characteristics and business requirements. Academic Specialist in Engineering Management for Digital Transformation will be trained in informed decision making about the direction of digital security development in organizations of different organizational structures and sizes.
Understanding the basic tasks of digital safety. Basic principles of protection of technological devices which have the characteristics of a computer. Basic ways of Internet protection. Understanding basic data protection tasks. Choosing internet connections from the aspect of digital safety. Internet addressing and digital security. Web hosting, cloud solutions and security. Defining and managing data security chains. Types of securing software solutions safety. Security aspect of choosing internal and external hardware and software solutions (in-house vs. outsourcing). The most common types of online breakdowns of databases and websites. Classification of attacks on computer networks. Ways of protecting computer networks. Methods for choosing a solution for the protection of computer networks. Creating a digital security plan.
Teaching on the course includes lectures, lectures with examples, lectures of visiting lecturers and experts, simulation and modeling, demonstrating research methods. Exercises are created to encourage individuality, originality and innovativeness of students, through presenting and analyzing case studies and comparative analysis.
