The objective of the course Contemporary Trends in Investment Management is to introduce students with modern theoretical and practical concepts in the investment processes with particular emphasis on the specificity of dynamic business conditions. In addition, the goal is to acquire scientifically verified and pragmatically tested conclusions about the possibility of application an adequate methodology in the function of improving the performance of investments.

The course outcome is student`s knowledge and training for formulating, implementing and evaluating the investment strategy, as well as acquiring analytical capabilities to analyze the effects from specific investment activities.

Investment management - theoretical approach; Investment Management - Practical Approach; Globalization; Neoliberalism vs. Neoetatism; Deregulation and technological change and innovation; Models of rational expectations and their creation; Institutional regulation; Review and analysis of the investment environment; Causes of crisis and expectations; Supervision; Investment structure; Investment strategy; Challenges of investing in contemporary conditions.
