Subject: Modeling and Simulation of logistics processes (17.IM1629)

General information:

Category Professional-applicative
Scientific or art field
  • Proizvodni i uslužni sistemi, organizacija i menadžment
  • Quality, Effectiveness and Logistics
ECTS 5

The objective of the course is to train students in applying a process approach in modeling business processes. Through the methods and techniques of applying the process approach, students will be trained to observe a business system at a certain level of abstraction, both at the whole and at the level of the vital elements that make up the whole, performing the decomposition of the business system in logical and functional units, And display it with adequate graphical methods and tools, in some of the software aided tools, and finaly by making funcional simulation on that model.

The student in this course receives theoretical and practical knowledge related to the application of the process approach to the organization, methods and techniques of modeling, graphic presentations of the business system and simulation, as well as the application of some of the computer packages in the field of computer supported modeling and simulation of business systems.

Introduction and basic concepts, advantages of application process approach in business process modeling, observation of the business system at a certain level of abstraction, methods and techniques of decomposition of the business system to functional and logical whole processes, process elements, process division according to different criteria, control processes, basic processes , Support processes, types of connections between processes, and ways of linking processes into functional and logical entities. Testing a developed model in one of the software packages for simulation.

Theoretical, auditory lectures, practical exercises, written theoretical exam and preparation and defense of practical work
