Educational goal:

The goal of this course is to teach students to develop all-encompassing cybersecurity strategies for organizations of different sizes. For achieving that goal, the students will learn the necessary techniques for asset management, risk analysis, budgeting and policy development. The students will become familiar with the relevant standards and frameworks and their relations with cybersecurity strategies.

Educational outcome:

Students will be able to assess the complex impact and importance of cyber security strategies on organizational objectives. They will possess the necessary skills to develop policies, processes, and actions which enable the achievement of business goals while working in cyberspace. They will acquire the knowledge and skills to assess needs, create an appropriate cyber security strategy that supports business goals.

Course content:

The definition of the cyberspace environment. Cybersecurity strategy. Asset management in information security. Security in cyberspace. Risk management. Managing complex relationships in cyberspace. Information security standards and frameworks. Cybersecurity management. Contemporary conflict in cyberspace. Policy planning and development. Budget planning and development. Protection of civil rights. Data protection policies. Physical security and environmental risks and events.
