Subject: Statial design (17.F506)

General information:

Category Theoretical-methodological
Scientific or art field Grafičko inženjerstvo
ECTS 8

The objective of the course is to introduce students to the concept of spatial design and to present the relationships between the space and the man who participate in it. The emphasis is on connecting graphic design and space in which it is applied. Through examples of the most common public spaces (exhibitions, business, sales, etc.), students will deepen their understanding of the relationship. It will also analyse examples from the history of art, but also contemporary environments. Upon completion of pre-examination and exam obligations, students will be able to apply the applied knowledge in practice, or independently design rooms adapted to specific needs.

After completing the pre-examination and examinations, the student will be able to make visualisation of specific spatial design (textured and illuminated three-dimensional model, and animation). Those knowledge will be a valuable addition of the student competencies. Techniques acquired on subjects in the field of graphics engineering, and graphic design will be supplemented with the skills of three-dimensional design and animation.

The teaching process is performed through modern educational tools and methods, interactive, in the form of lectures and computer exercises. The subject theory, obtained through the examples and the simulation of the problem solution, is presented during lectures to facilitate the understanding of the subject matter. Lectures are available for students in .pdf format. Computer classes are organised to supplement the knowledge in 3D software. In addition to lectures and practical work, consultations are held regularly.
