Acquiring knowledge, competencies and academic skills of students on contamination and waste streams in the printing industry. Training students for the selection of adequate techniques for converting the waste printing streams into environmentally acceptable forms for disposal in the working and living environment. Development of creative abilities and mastering specific practical skills in the field of printing waste management. Raising students' awareness of the impact of printing raw materials, the process of printing and final printing products in the work and living environment, and the importance of substitution, reduction or elimination of the mentioned impacts and wastes.

The ability of students to solve specific problems related to contamination and waste streams in the printing industry. Mastering the methods, procedures and processes of pollution and waste printing management using scientific methods. Ability to critically and self-critical thinking and approaches in the field of pollution management in the printing industry. Implementation of acquired theoretical and practical knowledge of the student in future independent professional work for analyzing and solving existing and new engineering problems in practice related to pollution and management of generated waste streams in a printing environment.

Theoretical teaching includes: Definition of basic ecological concepts and labels; Defining sources of air pollution, liquid waste streams and solid waste in all production phases of the printing industry; Analysis of the characteristics and behavior of printing pollutants; Air pollution includes: characterization and detection of aeroputant and classification of indoor air purification techniques in the printing industry; Water pollution includes: physicochemical characterization of pollutants of wastewater and wastewater treatment technology of the printing industry; Solid waste includes: classification, disposal and management of solid waste in the printing industry; Packaging includes: defining the source of packaging generation, sustainable development and life cycle of packaging in the printing industry; The noise includes: analysis of noise sources and noise level detection in the printing industry. Practical classes include: Application of physical-chemical and instrumental methods for detection and quantification of pollutants in the waste printing streams; Estimation of the efficiency of the applied methods in the removal of pollutants from the waste printing streams.

Teaching is done with modern didactic means and methods, interactively in the form of lectures and laboratory exercises. The lectures feature theoretical material with PowerPoint presentations accompanied by representative audio and video examples for easier understanding of the subject matter. Laboratory exercises are practically applied and realized by acquired theoretical knowledge. Students actively, independently and with supervision take part in the preparation and implementation of experiments on the available laboratory equipment. In addition to lectures and laboratory exercises, also consultations were held regularly.
