The subject goal is an objective, systematic and critical approach to the scientific methods applied in vehicle mechatronic systems.
Student gets a capability to perform experimental and theoretical research in an area of scientific disciplines that are implemented in field of vehicle mechatronics systems, having a goal towards the optimization and further development of vehicle components and subsystems. Student should develop individuality and systematic approach in all steps of research, including teamwork and international cooperation skills.
Student selects a field according to the research that is directed towards realization of doctoral dissertation: Electronic and electrotechnical systems and components in motor vehicles. Signals, communication networks and information technology in motor vehicles. Theory and application of automatic control systems in motor vehicles. Types, structure and functions of mechatronic systems in motor vehicles. Physical basics and practical implementation of systems for driving dynamics, driver assistance and autonomous driving. Mechatronic passive safety and comfort systems of motor vehicles. Mechatronic systems in alternative propulsion systems of motor vehicles.
Lectures, study research work and consultations. The lectures provide a theoretical part of the material using modern equipment and information and communication technologies. Through lectures, a student acquires and mastered contemporary scientific knowledge, scientific methods and procedures that enable him to become independent research work. In addition to lectures, consultations are also held regularly. Study research work includes all forms of teaching that are in the function of directly training a student for research, writing scientific papers and making a doctoral dissertation. Study research work includes active monitoring of primary scientific sources, organization and execution of numerical simulations and experimental research.
