The goal of this course is a detailed discussion of attacks against critical infrastructures, as well as teaching students to develop an information security architecture and plan. Analysis of the history and development of threats and attacks in cyberspace. Analysis of modern, hybrid security control techniques in cyberspace.
Deep understanding of the history of attacks against critical infrastructures. Capability to perform threat modeling and analyze complex attack against critical infrastructures, as well as the consequences of such attacks. Capability to choose adequate advanced security controls. Capability to develop an information security architecture and a security plan. Familiarity with data science methods applicable in information security.
History of attacks agains critical infrastructures. Attack vectors and techniques. Advanced security controls. Threat modeling. Analysis of consequences of successful attacks. Discussion of the Stuxnet attack on Iranian nuclear facilities. Discussion of the cyber attacks agains distribution systems in the Ukraine. Secure industrial communication protocols. Information security architecture. Application of data science techniques in information security.
