Educational goal:

The aim of the subject is detail study of design principles and advanced concepts of critical mission software systems.

Educational outcome:

The outcome of the subject is capacity to design advanced critical mission software systems.

Course content:

Critical mission computing as communication real-time infrastructure for systems for integrated control of complex industrial systems. Architecture of high performance control system and its integration with decision support and business information systems. Design of critical software components optimized for real-time operation under heavy load. Design of simulation test-beds for verification of complex software systems and evaluation of their real-time performances. Reliability and availability of distributed control system. Redundant structures. Security and safety aspects. Industrial communications and networks applied in critical infrastructure systems. Case studies of different real-world critical mission systems.

Teaching methods:

Lectures; Consultations. Throughout research study, student is obliged to complete practically oriented project. Gained results must be published in a scientific paper at a conference of the international level.
