This course aims to teach students to: design low power networked embedded systems; work with real time networked embedded operating systems; work with state-of-the-art IoT technologies and do the research in those fields.
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to design, implement and verify systems and to research in the field of advanced networked embedded systems and low power embedded systems.
Low power networked embedded architectures. Energy efficient voltage converters and real time clocks. Low power RF transceivers and antennae. Design of battery powered devices with energy harvesting capabilities. Networked embedded real time operating systems. Internet of things. Advanced communication protocols in networked embedded systems. Energy efficient protocols in wireless sensor networks. State-of-the-art encryption and cyber-security methods.
Lectures will be given with each student individually. Teacher will, in cooperation with each student, select his/her's areas of interest and propose a scientific literature and topic that a student should prepare and present. Student research work.
