ECTS 10

Training students at abstract thinking and the acquisition of theoretical knowledge in the areas of aggregation functions, introducing students to theoretical examination, techniques and aggregation function implementations. Students are trained to adopt the criteria and methods for selection of the appropriate aggregation function for the purpose of making mathematical models that will be used to solve practical problems in the various fields of applications. Also, an important goal is and meeting students with important and varied theoretical areas, engineering and other scientific disciplines in which the aggregate functions can be applied. Students get acquainted with important classes of functions of aggregation, as well as with the methods and motivations of application of certain classes and types of aggregation function.

The student is trained to understand the process of aggregation of information, understanding the process of analyzing the problems in which the method of information aggregation can give good results, as well as methods of selecting the aggregation functions which can give good results for resolving some problems. Adopted knowledge are used in solving practical problems by using a mathematical models based on aggregation functions, for better understanding of the scientific literature and current areas of application of aggregation function, and further successful progress in studying and application of acquired knowledge.

The contents of course includes the following topics: definition and properties of aggregation functions, methods for aggregation functions construction, classes and types of aggregation functions, aggregation on symmetrical intervals, application of aggregation functions. In terms of class and types of aggregation functions, lessons includes various types of means, triangular norms, triangular conorms, uninorms, nulnorms, copulas and aggregation functions based on nonadditive integrals. Study and research work includes studying of appropriate scientific literature, and research on capabilities of applying aggregation function in a variety of engineering and other scientific disciplines.

Teaching is carried out through lectures and consultations. Exposure to theoretical pieces accompanied by appropriate examples that contribute to explanation of the theoretical part of the material. With homework, working with the teacher and studying scientific journals and other literature, the student is trained for independent writing of scientific work and application of aggregation function in a variety of scientific disciplines.
