Introduction to the most relevant critical and theaoretical principles and approaches to perception, study, analysis and evaluation of works in the areas of performing arts. Development of synthesic thought about performing arts.

Students’ ability to individually and in a group, thoughtfuly and with arguments, evaluate works in the area of performing arts, with the special focus on the use of scene design elements. Ability to analythically interpret crtitical texts, as well as basic level of ability to write reviews.

Term and types of art review. Approaches to critical thinking in arts. Basic principles and types of reviews in performing arts. Basic principles of analysis and evaluation of scene design elements in the performing art works. Relationship between theory and criticism. Importance of critical interpretation of performing arts works for the perception and reception of the audience. Role of the critic in promotion of performing arts works and artists.
