The objective of the course is to introduce students with the basic knowledge and skills in the field of contemporary installation art, likewise to enable them to use gained knowledge in further artistic and professional work.
Students’ ability for critical analysis and creative work in the field of the spatial installation art.
The term and definitions of spatial installation and art intervention in space. Deconstruction of space. Reconstruction of space. Aspects of the place’s backgrounds. Strategies of representation. Potential of space. Models of space transformation. Potentials of presentation media. Observing and reflecting on the new potentials of public space trough series of lectures and presentations, likewise the discussions with the artists and cultural workers, students will create their own models for transformation of a given spaces or buildings. They will create projects using different media (sound, photography…).
Lectures. Workshops. Discussions. Individual and group consultations. During the classes of practical sessions, students work on the individual project, which involves conceptualisation and design of spatial installation in a given ambient.
