The objective of the course is acquiring knowledge and competences that will enable students insight into the social, historical and cultural background of the modern era, through observation, recognition, description and interpretation of architectural heritage.

Knowledge and competencies gained in module could be of great importance for further theoretical study of the relationship between architectural heritage, society, and political discourse of the modern era.

Main topics: Heritage as a political instrument, heritage as a means of identifying with certain places and traditions, heritage as a method of creating and managing collective identity in multicultural societies
