The main goal of the course is acquiring basic knowledge about the emergence and development of architecture and settlements in the region, mutual influences, similarities and differences. The specific objective of the course is the applicability of acquired knowledge in contemporary conditions of regional connection in the field of architectural heritage.

It is expected that students will have the ability to recognize architectural forms, techniques of construction and stylistic features of the buildings created in Serbia and region, as well as comparing them with representative examples of European architecture.

Introduction to studying regional architecture; Historical circumstances of the architecture development in Serbia and region; Architectural creativity in the ancient times; Raska, Byzantine and Moravian style schools; Medieval architecture during the Turkish occupation; Medieval architecture in Vojvodina; Secular architecture and fortifications in the Middle Ages; Pre-Romanesque, Romanesque and Gothic architecture; Renaissance and Baroque in region; Classicist architecture in Vojvodina; Architecture of the historical styles; Art Nouveau
