Call for the potential recruitment of experienced researchers for the project

14.12.2011. - 00:00
The Speech Technology Centre (STC) project is aimed at improving the research potential of the Faculty of Technical Sciences (FTN), University of Novi Sad (UNS), and at launching 3 of its most promising Research, Technology, Development groups into ERA. The upgrade of research equipment for 3 labs (Speech Technologies, Audio&Video, Sound&Vibration) and a new SoundStudio will facilitate future cutting-edge research at FTN and UNS. FTN is already the regional leader in sound and vibration modelling, audio signal proces¬sing, and speech technology (ST) development. Their STs for most South Slavic languages (Serbian, Croatian, Bosnian, Macedonian) have been applied within innovative telephony applications, web voice portals, as well as aids for the disabled. Among other activities, this project will improve the research capacity by recruiting experienced researchers.
In this context the return of nationals who have left the country is encouraged, but this call is open to any candidate that fills the requirements of the adequate academic background. Experienced scientists and engineers for running the newly acquired equipments are also eligible. The recruitment of experienced researchers is primarily aimed at addressing the lack of experience in project management, strategic planning, organisation and experi¬mental work.

This call is to advertise potential full-time contract positions for a period of 3 years, which includes the employment procedure in accordance with Serbian regulations.

Those interested in joining the STC team are kindly asked to contact Professor Ivana Kovacic ivanakov@uns.ac.rs or Professor Vlado Delicvdelic@uns.ac.rs for further details before 25 December 2011.
