Introduce students to advanced train management systems and regulation railway

By adopting the course content, students will be able to follow the latest trends in mastering the skills of planning, conducting and managing research and the adoption of basic principles for improving the railway safety.

Principles, rules and techniques of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS), The European Train Control System (ETCS), Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway (GSM-R). Problems, techniques and methods of optimum dispatch: Tactical train scheduling, operational routing of trains routs, Detection and resolution of conflicts in the movement of trains,, eliminating and reducing the impact of train delay,, Train travel costs, maneuvering.. Methods for optimizing of timetables. Planning of rail transport using software packages (OpenTrack, Treno, RailSys...).

Display solutions of current problems of modern methods and techniques, analysis of railway safety solutions, student study research.
