Introduction to basic principles of logistics management within the supply chain and their importance in contemporary business conditions. Developing the ability to conceptualize, design and implement supply chains paradigm aligned with product, market and customer characteristics.
Acquiring the necessary knowledge concerning the technical and technological nature of the key components of logistics processes within the chain of supply. Development of analytical and managerial skills necessary for successful application of this knowledge in solving strategic, tactical and operational issues of supply chain management.
Basic assumptions related to logistics and supply chains. Logistics strategy and planning. Information Technology and their impact on the coordination of logistics activities. Inventory strategy. Logistics forecasting. Designing of supply chains, location strategies and distribution logistics. Supply chain games. Supply chain risk management.
Lectures, auditory and laboratory exercises (playing logistic games), consultations for homework preparation.
