Introduction of students with contemporary energy plants taking into account general interests and justification of their use from the point of view of energy efficiency increase, supply security, environmental, economic and other conditions.

Acquired knowledge will enable the students understanding of the operation principles of contemporary energy plants and justification of their introduction.

Operation principles of contemporary energy plants with MHD generation, use of heat pipes. CHP plants. Use of gas turbines, micro-gas turbines, Stirling engines, high-temperature fuel cells, ORC, TFC, VPC, Kalina cycle... Absorption and adsorption cooling cycles. Trigeneration and polygeneration-practice examples. Hybrid plants (CSP Stirling, CPV, passive heating and cooling, solar pumps, heat flows in heat storage system).

Lectures, calculation and computer practice, project work and consultations.
