Acquiring basic and applied knowledge in the field of systems and signals in geomatics.

Acquired knowledge is used in professional courses, as well as in the recognition and in solving the engineering problems.

Fundamentals of signals and systems. Basic characteristics of signals and systems. Basic continuous time signals. Modification of the independent time variable t in continuous signals. Continuous time convolution. Basic discrete time signals. Modification of the independent time variable n in discrete signals. Discrete time convolution. Characteristics of continuous systems. Linear Time Invariant Systems (LTI). Continuous LTI systems. Characteristics of discrete systems. Discrete LTI systems. Signal analysis in frequency domain. Fourier series representation of periodic signals. Continuous- time Fourier transform. Fundamentals of digital image processing. 2D signals and systems. Properties of light and human visual system. Methods for improving image quality in spatial and frequency domain.
