The course aims to introduce students with the main theoretical conceptualisations of space that in different historical periods had paradigmatic role in wide field of architecture, art and culture in the West, starting from Ancient to Modern times.

During this course students will gain insights into historical determination of the concepts of space, significance and the role that space has in the contemporary architecture, art and culture.

Constructing of the concept of space: from experiential to abstract conceptualisations; antique concepts of space; spiritual space of middle ages; modern space; psychological space; spatial turn; postmodern space; cyber space.
