Training students to master the theoretical approaches for designing procedural city models.
Ability to define shape grammar of the urban environment and generation of the code for procedural modelling of the cities.
Basic technologies of procedural modelling: shape grammar, GIS, visual programming, CGI tools. Generation of street networks by using OSM maps and parameters from City Engine. Definition of the rules of shape grammar. Connection of the attributes from GIS base with procedural model. Generation of architectural typology based on GIS attributes. Using of the software packages and programming languages for procedural modelling of the cities (CityEngine, Houdini, Palladio, CGI alati).
Lectures and Practice in the computer laboratory. Consultations.
