Educational goal:

The acquisition of knowledge and the theoretical foundations of the natural groundwater system and its functioning. Introduction to the problems and the use of groundwater management with special emphasis on the problems of monitoring and groundwater protection.

Educational outcome:

The student needs to understand the groundwater system (phenomena, processes, management objectives, use, protection). Student must master a way of looking and forecasting the transformation of groundwater quality.

Course content:

Introduction. Status of groundwater as a natural resource. The objectives of groundwater management. Composition and properties of the aquifer. Specific processes of groundwate self-purification and resource management. Protected areas. Criteria and methods of protection. Sustainable and adaptive management of groundwater. Groundwater monitoring. The situation in our country

Teaching methods:

Classes will be realized in the form of lectures, calculation exercises, field exercises and visits. The exam can be taken in two tests, each of which contains a logical whole curriculum. In addition to lectures and exercises consultation are held regularly. Term papers are made by groups designated by the subject's teacher, while defense research paper in terms of auditory. Both tests are taken in written form. Tests are held during the semester of instruction. Students who did not pass the exam must take the tests over the entire final exam.
