Educational goal:

Introducing students to the mutual relationship of the environment and managing accidental risks.

Educational outcome:

Students acquire the knowledge they need in order to participate in complex management processes of accidental risks in the environment.

Course content:

• Hazards • Natural hazards • Hazards caused by human activity • Monitoring and assessment of hazards • Vulnerability • Introduction to the problems of vulnerability • The vulnerability of the environment • Indicators of integral vulnerability assessment • Vulnerability and Sustainable Development • Environmental risks • Introduction to the Theory of Risk • Risk Indicators • Evaluation and monitoring of risk • Analysis and risk reduction

Teaching methods:

Lectures, exercises, consultations. The material can be taken in the form of two partial exams, in writing. Students can pass the final exam through partial exams. Assessment of exam is based on the success of the partial exams or exams.
