Acquiring knowledge about the application of information technology to support the sustainable development of biosystems.

Knowledge of modern information technologies, which aim to support the sustainable development of biosystems.

Course content:

Introduction to the subject, to introduce students to the work and responsibilities. Concepts of Information Technology. Information Technology in agriculture. Sensors. Application of sensors on the machines for biosystems. Control and management functions using tractors and agricultural machines. VRT (Variable Rate Technology) on agricultural machinery. Application of IT in the field of distribution of mineral fertilizers and manure. Application of IT in the field of plant protection. Application of IT in production in greenhouses. Application of IT for irrigation. Application of IT in the harvest. Application of GPS positioning and navigation. Application of IT in livestock. Economic aspects of IT. Visit the farm that uses GPS data, or any other aspect of the application of IT in agriculture.

Teaching methods:

Auditory classes, seminars with oral defense, colloquial exam and an oral exam.
