Educational goal:

Acquisition of basic and applied knowledge in the field of cartography, mapping of phenomena and Geographic Information Systems.

Educational outcome:

Use the acquired knowledge in the development of simulation of flood risk, pollution and other phenomena during risk assessment using GIS technology.

Course content:

The basic concept of geographic information systems. Database. Spatial references, vector and raster data types, topological structures, queries. Overview of OGC standards in distributed systems. Mapping flood risk. Mapping of pollutants.

Lectures; exercises; active participation; making practical tasks.
