Educational goal:

Acquiring basic knowledge of: logistics significance in economic system of one country, structure and tasks of logistics system and structure of logistics processes, thanks to which material goods flow transformation in time and space is carried out.

Educational outcome:

By completing the course student will be capable to: distinguish the different structures of the logistics system; defines the membership, define basic functions and tasks of particular subsystems; identify, describe and quantify logistics processes; evaluate basics performances of logistic processes.

Course content:

Essence determinants of logistics – genesis and definitions. Systematic and process approach in logistics. Logistics system and subsystems: transport, transshipment, storaging, inventory management, information subsystems. Logistics and supply chains. Basic logistic indicators: logistics services quality and logistics costs. Logistics processes. Modern logistics concepts: supply chain management, logistics outsourcing, logistics providers, reversible logistics and green logistics, city logistics, logistics centers.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, exercises, consultations, debates. Knowledge testing: written exam.
