Educational goal:

Students learn about the models and technologies for identity management.

Educational outcome:

After successfully completing the course students gain the basic theoretical concepts of identity, identity management, and knowledge on the multidisciplinary nature of the identity management problem. They are able to design and establish identity management system in a small or medium organization.

Course content:

Basic theoretical concepts of identity and identity management. Multidisciplinary approach: technical, legal, social, security and organizational aspects of the identities. Identity management approaches: core identity, user and service access. Identity management systems: directories, LDAP standards and meta-directories. Technical aspects of the identity management system implementation: Single Sign On, Kerberos, X.509/PKI. Identity Federation and SAML standard.

Teaching methods:

Lectures. Computer practice. Consultations. The examination is oral. The final grade is formed on the basis of achievement in the laboratory practice classes and oral examination.
