Acquiring in-depth knowledge about ideas, projects and works by architects and town planners in Serbia and ex-Yugoslav countries. Emphasis is on research into the similarities and diversities between the employed practices in the context of the complex Yugoslav community during its existence and in the context of European practices.
Ability of students to locate and synthesize the concepts, subjects, projects and works of architecture in Yugoslavia within social, historical, philosophical, cultural and artistic contexts, as well as to adequately formulate their own observations, positions and knowledge through skills of persuasive, systematic and expressive analysis.
Pluralism of architectural phenomena at the beginning of 20th century. Emergence of Moderna in Yugoslavia. Global and national frameworks of modernistic practice. Post-war modernism at Yugoslav territories. South-East European modernisms. Programme framework for Yugoslav modernism. Modernism as paradigm of modernisation.
