The aim of the study course is to acquire comprehensive knowledge of the theoretical and methodological, political and normative postulates underlying systems security. The specificity of the target is reflected in the interpretation and understanding of the growing theoretical and scientific debate on security phenomena and their implications on the security policy and practice in the field are managed by the risk of catastrophic events.

Acquired knowledge and competence will enable the research and analysis of various theoretical and methodological perspective of security studies, assessing their explanatory potential in relation to contemporary security phenomena and processes materialized in the functions and institutions of the security system. The knowledge acquired will form the basis for the development of competencies for prognostic analysis of scientific experts and operational and experiential level of importance for creating system solutions and security risk management practices of catastrophic events

Reference security area (according to the level and sector analysis: Human security, national security, security regional, global security, social security, energy safety, environmental safety, political, military and economic); positivistically and post-positive approach security (realism / neorelism, neoliberalizam, peace studies, studies of the security policy, post-modern, critical theory, konstruktivizam, normative theory); systems theory and the theory of deterministic chaos; security systems as "structure on the move" and the system variables in the design of the security-political discourse contemporary international relations and relationships within the country; application of the theory of the organization, and analysis of systems theory to national security system as organization system; reference Theoretical and Methodological Framework for a comparative analysis of the security system; Principles of systemic thinking in shaping the strategic thinking of decision makers.

Classes will be conducted through lectures, panel discussions, debates, consultations, essays and seminars.
