The aim of this course is that the students become educated to recognize and estimate risk from electrostatic discharges. The students are able to independently work on cause elimination in simple cases of electrostatic discharges, based on numerical simulations and multidisciplinary approach.
Upon successful completion of this course, the students are able to perform independent research and offer solutions for simple problems related to electrostatic discharge. Students are able to successfully combine knowledge from different areas, to follow newest achievements and analyze new ideas about risk reduction in management of electrostatic discharge.
Electrostatic discharges in industry. Electrostatic discharges in IT environment. Smart house and electrostatic discharges. Modern models, methods of analysis, legislation. Numerical models for risk management in specific situations. Vulnerability estimation. Reference exposure considerations.
Lectures and recitations are predominant. Student's progress is monitored trough discussions and homework. Specific subjects are covered trough additional mentoring. Contemporary methods and means of information technology are adopted.
