Course content:

Module 1: Elevators. Function, importance, parameters, classification. Selec-tion of class, number, capacity, driving and control system parameters. Built-in location, demands, restric-tions. Arts of elevator driving systems. Basic elements and design solutions. Elevator safety devices. Elevator drive control systems, operation monitoring. Exploitation and maintaining, operation safety, testing of elevators, technical regulations. Module 2: Escalators and moving walks. Function, importance, parameters, classification. Built-in location, demands, restrictions. Basic elements and design solutions. Escalators and moving walks safety devices. Exploitation and maintaining, operation safety, testing, technical regulations. Module 3: Ropeways. Function, importance, parameters, classification. Built-in location, demands, restrictions. Basic elements and design solutions. Ropeways safety devices. Exploitation and maintaining, operation safety, testing, technical regulations. Other types of internal urban transport.

Teaching methods:

Lectures, auditory practical classes and consultations. Lectures are realized through presentations followed by slides and topic video materials as well as auditory practical classes with activ student participation. Practical classes are based on numerous practical examples. Student visits to companies for data collectiong are planned. Apart from lectures and practical classes, consultation are held regularly. Prerequisits include project elaboration and presentation and four tests. The final test is oral.
