Objective of this course is to identify relevant parts of environmental protection facilities and systems within the goal oriented management. Educate students to how to use existing capacities for reduction and treatment of waste streams to the full extent and for to assess economical and environmental implications of current or other technologies. Identification of possible improvements of environmental protection systems shall be based on assessment of the best available techniques (BAT).

The expected educational outcome implies the ability of students to understand the complexity of environment protection systems, to plan development, to design and to manage part or the the whole system.

Theoretical classes: Determination of relevant parts of industrial and municipal environmental systems, planing of development and maintaining, preventive measures, minimization of costs, industrial and municipal systems quality monitoring indicators, technical and operational improvements measures, techno-economical analysis of industrial and municipal environmental protection systems. Practical lectures: The exercises are dealing in more detail with lecture material through the practical examples, using modern tools for modeling and simulation of real processes

Lectures, auditory exercises, computer exercises and consultations. Theoretical lectures cover theoretical part of the material, followed by specific examples for better understanding of lectured material. The exercises follow theoretical lectures; real examples are analyzed in detail, which grow into the tasks that should be solved in the exam prerequisites. Pre exam student responsibilities include the preparation and presentation of seminar paper. End part of the exam consists of written and oral parts.
