Acquiring the necessary knowledge of technological processes that are used in the preparation (treatment) of drinking and water purification (treatment) of wastewater.

Basic knowledge of chemical reactions and reaction kinetics. Basic knowledge of reactor technology. Knowledge of basic biological processes. Understanding and knowledge of processes used in water treatment and wastewater treatment.

Theoretical study of chemical reactions and reaction kinetics. Analysis of the reactor. Separation and mass transfer. Chemical oxidation and reduction. Coagulation and flocculation. Gravitational settling. Flotation. Filtration through granular media. Membrane separation. Aeration and gas stripping. Adsorption. Ion exchange. Dry deposition. Disinfection. Fundamentals of biological treatment (microorganisms, microbial growth kinetics, immobilized and suspended growth microorganisms, aerobic and anaerobic metabolism, biological nitrification and denitrification, biological phosphorus removal). Biological treatment processes. Practical lessons Numerical exercises (quantification process).
