The aim of the course is to provide specialized knowledge necessary for planning, designing, building, managing and maintaining of oil and gas storage facilities.
Students will be able to plan, design, build, manage and maintain oil and gas storage facilities.
Oil and crude oil tanks, equipment, design and maintenance. Gas release in crude oil tanks, gas losses in tanks. Calculation of dimensions of tanks for oil and crude oil. Hydrocarbon vapor capture systems. Above ground storage tanks for natural gas, equipment, design and maintenance. Tanks for liquefied petroleum gas, equipment, design and maintenance. Tanks for liquefied natural gas, equipment, design and maintenance. Underground natural gas storages. Selection of reservoirs for natural gas storage. Methods of injecting and pumping of natural gas. Calculation of basic indicators of natural gas storage in reservoirs. Regulation and control of the natural gas storage process. Improvement of the characteristics of existing natural gas storage facilities. Legislation in the field of natural gas storage.
Teaching is conducted using modern didactic tools and methods, interactively in the form of lectures, auditory and computer exercises. In addition to lectures and exercises, consultations are held regularly. During the lectures, the theoretical part of the material is presented accompanied by characteristic examples for easier understanding of the subject matter. In computer exercises, information and communication technologies are used in order to master knowledge and skills in the observed area.
