The aim of this course is to introduce students to the basic techniques and devices that are used to manage and control the technical systems in manufacturing and service companies, as well as different methods of programming of programmable logic controllers (PLC).
The outcomes of the course are the knowledge that students should have in order to understand and be able to implement the methods of controling technical systems that are used in various types of industrys and different programming languages for programming programmable logic controllers.
Introduction to the basic components of technical systems. The basic principles of technical systems. Automated systems. Mechatronic systems. Mathematical description of facilities management. Principles of implementation of control systems. Examples of technical management sistemima. The structure of PLC. PLC Programming: Sequential functional diagram; Structured text; A list of instructions; Ladder diagram; The functional block diagram. Fuzzy controllers. Connecting a PLC. Projects with PLC. Applications of PLC.
Lectures; laboratory exercises, consultations; group and individual work mandatory tasks. Throughout the process of teaching, students are encouraged to intensive communication, critical reasoning, independent work and an active attitude towards the teaching.
