Educational goal:

The objective of the course is to enable students knowledge and skills related to legal and ethical problems and the ways of their solving in the health care system.

Educational outcome:

Students acquire basic knowledge about the main legal and ethical principles that influence the decision making in the health care of Serbia and in international environment. They are especially prepared to address key issues related to patients rights and ways of their realizatio, as well as obligations and responsibilities. They also get acquainted with the rights, obligations and responsibilities of medical experts. They are trained to understand the legal and ethical framework of management in the health care system. They re preparing for creating a favorable environment for the application of legal and ethical norms.

Course content:

Defining basic health care problems. Medical and health ethics. Ethical committees and doctors chambers. Rights, obligations and responsibilities of patients. Rights, obligations and responsibilities of medical personnel. Median data and protection. Medical and genetic privacy of patients. Right to death with dignity. Clinical research and position of patients and medical staff. Special categories of individuals and their rights to health care. Regulation of advertising of medical services. Ethical and legal aspects of medical experiments. Safety of pharmaceutical products and processes. Damage and responsibility. Legal frameworks for preparing health strategies.

Teaching methods:

Lectures with the active participation of students. Discussions in small groups. Case studies with real scenarios related to specific topics and problems
