Main educational goal of the course is achievement of scientific competence and academic skills in the field of assessment and risk analysis of energy systems. Furthermore, development of creative skills for problems analysis and synthesis, and critical thinking.
Outcomes and purpose of this course are education of students for high quality individual and team –scientific research paper in the field of assessment and risk analysis of energy systems. The outcome of course is the acquisition of the necessary scientific and technical competence in this area.
Theoretical assumptions of risk technologies; Criteria and methods of risk assessment and evaluation of the incident consequences; Treating the problem by numerical and computing techniques; Problems of development and application of simulating models and communication software. A part of the course is conducted through independent research in the field of simulation and risk assessment of energy systems. The research includes active monitoring of primary scientific resources, organization and execution of experiments and statistical analysis, numerical simulation, possibly writing a paper in the field of the subject.
Lectures, seminar and consultations. Examination: through work, defense of paper work and written exam.
