The subject introduces students to the basics underlying Toyota's production system and with all the key elements of this approach, and trains students in the application of these elements on the maintenance management and activities.

After completing courses and passing the exam, students will be able to identify all the wastes that occur during maintenance activities (7 +1 Toyota's losses) and to identify possible improvements that will mitigate these wastes.

History of Lean. Basics of Lean. Lean production and lean maintenance. Total Productive Maintenance and Lean maintenance. Elements of Reliability Based Maintenance and lean maintenance. Transformation in maintaining lean maintenance. Elements of Lean in maintainance (eliminating wastes, 5S, poka-yoke, kaizen. Documentation in lean maintenance.

Lectures, exercises, consultations. The exam is written.
