Introducing students to the fundamentals of data structures and file organization.
Acquiring knowledge about basic data structures and file organization. Introduction to operations over data structures and files, search and data sorting algorithms.
Introduction: the concept and classification of data structures. Basic data types. Logical and physical data structures. Linear structures, tree-type structures and network structure. Basic operations over data structures. Data structures in the operational memory: static, semi-static and dynamic data structures. Data structures stored on the mass storage. File organization: sequential, relative, direct, and index-sequential. Physical file structure and data exchange processes.
Lectures; Laboratory exercises; Consultation; Independent preparation of student assignments. Laboratory exercises are carried out in a computer laboratory equipped with appropriate software tools. Throughout the entire process of teaching, students are encouraged to intensely communicate, work independently and to actively participate in the teaching process.
