Educational goal:

Educational objective of this subject is to enable students to understand importance of business analysis and reporting, to enable them to use methods and techniques from business analysis domain i empowering students to take appropriate actions and techniques while observing changes and creating solutions for dynamic business environment.

Educational outcome:

After successful completion of this course, student will be able to: use different business analysis and reporting techniques, to make use of data obtained from information systems, to provide general overview and business implications from company documentation and create graphical results of analysis, to communicate with relevant stakeholders about business changes and to provide solution on basic level problem complexity.

Course content:

Following topics are covered in this course: key concpets of business analysis, planning and monitoring of business analysis processes, observing and analysing business changes, request analysis, potential solution analysis and validation, making use of data obtained from information systems, different ways of consumption of data obtained from business analysis, reporting principles and objective, report generators, overview of data reporting tools and techiques.

Teaching methods:

A variety of approaches to teaching and learning are adapted including lectures, exercises with examples, group work activities and consultations. Didactical tools will be used during lectures for presenting the course content, and active involvement of students will be promoted. Practical part of the course will be performed in laboratories with computers where students will have opportunity to solve exercises in groups or individually. Also, during exercises students will be provided with additional explanations about the content covered during lectures.
