Educational goal:

Introducing students with the application of engineering and statistical methods the companies face in their operations in order to manage the risks of realizing the potential losses. The main objective of this course is to complement and integrate knowledge about the methods used for managing business risks.

Educational outcome:

Students who take the course and pass the exam are qualified to review the role and importance of the application of engineering and statistical methods in risk management.

Course content:

Risk in business operations. Introduction to risk analysis tools and techniques. Management of strategic and operational risk. Credit risk management. Risk management in enterprises. Modern trends in risk management. Actual examples of risk management.

Teaching methods:

Classes include lectures on the subject with examples of domestic and international practice of risk management. In the exercises students are encouraged to work in groups, by solving the case studies in the area covered by the syllabus or by simulating risk management in real time and with real market conditions through educational platforms available online.
